I decided to cut Nick and Kate’s film in black and white for several reasons. First, we had never done a full black and white film before and I wanted a new challenge. Secondly, as I met with Kate and emailed back and forth leading up to her wedding day, almost all of the inspiration imagery she sent me was in black and white. It was very appealing to me, especially with the vintage touches she put on just about every wedding detail. All in all, they had an amazing, timeless wedding and I hope this film does it justice.

At Michael and Maria’s wedding this past Saturday, history was made for our studio. As our team has grown, it’s allowed us to offer a new option for couples, the Same Day Edit. As Michael and Maria’s wedding day was moving along, I was busy shooting, downloading footage and editing, in hopes of surprising them with a first for Capture Studios; a highlight film that would play at their reception. As 7:30pm came along and we were gearing up to film Michael and Maria’s first dance, I asked them to join me on the dance floor for a little surprise. They had no idea this was coming, which made it even more rewarding for us. Watching them watch their day, each moment coming back to life, was a sight to see. Tears filled the room and people cheered Mike on. It was absolutely amazing to see the love in that room.
